Email Marketing Best Practices

Emails are an important marketing tool that gives hotels a good return on the time and money investment. Here are a few best practices to get email marketing right:

  • Segment your mailing list based on relevant criteria; one idea, for example, is to split your list into ”return guests” and ”new guests”.
  • Make sure your subject line stands out. For instance, if you’re sending out emails as part of a Black Friday campaign, be aware that your email will be competing with tons of Black Friday-related emails your subscribers will be receiving from different brands. A ”Black Friday Sale” subject line won’t make the cut.
  • You may use emojis in your subject line, just don’t overdo it, as some subscribers might not like them.
  • Carry out A/B tests to learn over time what resonates best with your subscribers.
